skirt technical flat

long sleeve shirt technical flat

I have decided to choose one of my garment from my third collection: Grace. This garment has a long sleeve crop top that has a turtle neck inspired by a sweater look. there is also a zipper at the back. for the bottom it is a pleated puffy long skirt that reach the length up to the calf. It also come with a waist that a approximately a width of 7cm.

In making the technical flat drawing of this garment, i started to look for technical flat drawing that was similar to my garment so that i have an idea on how to go about the garment. with the pen tool i set it at 1 pt in thickness. i then click and drag on the curve part such as the pleating and edges of the skirt and the long sleeve shirt. i then uses the direct selection tool to adjust the position of the path so that it is in its proper position. the adjustment of the' handle' also allow the curve to be adjust such as it depth etc. Above is my complete technical drawing on my garment.

2nd Assessment illustrator: Fabric Board

by Fateh Mursyidah FD2A2

For the week 8 of school, we were being assessed on the use of adobe illustrator and remake the exact copy of a fabric board that was shown to us. The fabric board i felt that it was easy to do after practicing on how to apply clipping mask on the fabric layer and make all the fabric sample are in the exact shape and sizes and that it is align. Same goes when i am labeling the fabric.

This is first done by choosing a shape and unfilled  the shape so that it is transparent. Put the shape on top of my fabric of choice and select the fabric and the shape that i just place and right click and select the clipping mask selection. to make sure the fabric are align, i can click on the align selection at the top bar of the illustrator. to make sure the fabric do not move when i am doing the font, i can select the fabric sample and go to object at the top left corner and select 'lock' selection.

Adobe Illustration Part 2

by Fateh Mursyidah FD2A2

For the second part of adobe illustration, we learn more and in detail on technical flat drawing of a garment. we were thought in detail on using the pen tool. first we had to out line the flat garment guideline that was given to us using the pen tool. In order for it to be exactly on the point of the guideline, i can use the anchor point pen tool to curve the line by pulling the handle line , so that the line will be fitted exactly to the guideline.

For the second part we also learn how to cut of the part of the collar so that one part of the collar is on top of the other. this was a bit challenging for me but i manage to clear my doubt with the help of my classmate.

Adobe Illustration lesson 1

By Fateh Mursyidah FD2A2

During the start of the lesson for Adobe Illustrator, i felt that it was very confusing. i had a hard time getting use to the pen tool, whereby we were told to outline the guide line that was given to us. i could not understand the function of the 'handle' and the 'anchor'. after several trial and error with the pen tool , i was able to figure out its function with also the help of my friends.

For the homework that was given, i was lost at first about cropping and clipping mask for the fabric swatches. After several practice, i was able to recreate the mood board that was given to us. At first i crop out the background flower pattern at adobe Photoshop and transfer it to adobe illustration. after the background was done, i then move on to cropping the fabric swatches with the help of the circular shape tool. after that i selected the fabric picture and the shape tool together and "clip masked" it. however before clipping masked, i copy the exact circular shape for the first fabric swatch. this is to make sure that all 4 fabric swatches have the same  exact circle shape. this will help the look of the mood board to be more organize and neat. after the swatches is complete, i then move to Photoshop to crop our the illustrated model and then transfer it back to the illustrator. lastly was the text for the fabric swatches and the title of the moodboard. this was quite easy as it was quite alike as the one in adobe Photoshop.

the above picture is the final moodboard that i recreated using the Adobe Photoshop and the illustrator.

Mood Board Assessment Reflection 2016

by Fateh Mursyidah FD2A2

When i first saw the final mood board that we were suppose to make, i panic as there was a lot of images that have to be crop out and clean up before assembling them together into the mood board.  however after breaking down all the component and part of the mood board, it was actually quite manageable and possible to be done at the given time. however during the cleaning up of certain images using the magic tool, the tool could not detect the part of the images that i wanted to erase, and with that i manage to use the brush tool and on the layer mask i am able to zoom in into the images and clean up the edges and parts that i did not want. Although i experience couple of trouble during the making of the mood board, i am able to use different type of tools to get a certain effect i wanted.

Making a circular image with an image of a Gothic girl

For the Fourth week of class, i learnt a lot on the short cut and the finagling an image such as cleaning up an image that have been crop by using the brush tool. with the black ink, i am able to undo the erase part and with the white ink i am able to erase or clean up the edges of an images. for the photo that have a very distinct contrast to its background, i can simply use the the bar which is place at the  right bottom part of the software: under the "layers" bar, i can just click on the bar below it and change the "normal" into "darken" and the background of the image will disappear by itself without the need of being crop or cut out using the magic tool or the quick selection tool. we also learn how to make a circular image with the duplicating layer button  and apply to the image. after duplicating, move the center of the image on the area i want it to pivot. after that i can simply move the image without the image  going off center of the circular image i want to create. lastly is adding the text box which was quite easy to manage. it is straight forward having the font type and size bar at the top left hand corner of the screen. That is the last thing that i wan thought before going for the assessment next week. i hope i am able to duplicate the exact mood board that will be given to us during the assessment day.

Making a Moodboard

19th January 2016 lesson
by Fateh Mursyidah

For this week class, i learnt quite a few of things such as multiplying a certain image by duplicating after selecting the layer i want. After duplicating i can merged the layers together to make it into 1 image. i can also control the opacity of of an images by keying in the percentage i want such as "50%" in the opacity key bar. i can also select the percentage. i also learnt how transfer the stain glass and edit it by press alternate and clicking the middle part of the image so i will be selecting the image in a perfect circle without having the stain glass being cut out. One of the confusing method was removing the background from the gargoyle. however after trying a couple of time and asking my friends to explain to me the method i am able to understand better. i hope that i am able to do well during the assessment in week 5.

Cutting images/Copy/Paste

13 Jan 2016 wed class
by Fateh Mursyidah (FD2A2)

I find that week 2 of computerized technical drawing (CTD) is not that bad. in class, we were thought about the different method of copying and pasting through adobe Photoshop. I was first a bit panic when i was thought like 3 to 4 different method of copy and paste, but after practicing in class i started getting the hang of it. Other than that we also several method on cropping picture we had in the internet and pasting it in Photoshop to get us prepared in making mood board for our future assignment.

For example we would select a photo and bring it to Photoshop to be edited into our board. We first had to crop the model from the background. to do this i would select the crop button and select the area where the model i want is standing. I then copy and paste this in my board. To clear the extra background and get only the picture of the model, i would select the magic tool and click on the area i want to get rid of. I would press shift and continue selecting the area and press enter to clear the background. With this i would only be left with the picture of the model.
